JeanDelaire Congress 2027

Dear friends, dear colleagues,

I am delighted to announce that the next international congress of the Jean Delaire Institute will take place on 16 and 17 September 2027 at the Honeyrose Hotel in Montreal, Canada.

This bilingual conference will bring together healthcare professionals involved in the management of cranio-maxillofacial malformations: surgeons, orthodontists, rehabilitation specialists and, more broadly, all specialists driven by the desire to provide better diagnosis and treatment.

It is thanks to Professor David Precious, as early as the 1980s, that Professor Jean Delaire’s work – which emphasised a functional approach – became known to the Canadian medical and dental communities.

This 2027 edition will open in a spirit of Discovery and Controversy: discovery, because delegates will be able to discover or rediscover Jean Delaire’s scientific thinking, as well as his architectural and structural cephalometric analysis, which constitutes one of its main applications.

Controversy, because scientific progress arises from the reasoned confrontation of different, and sometimes opposing, points of view. Debate allows us to challenge established certainties, enrich our practices and invites everyone to step outside their comfort zone.

Dentofacial dysmorphoses and the associated respiratory abnormalities, craniofacial developmental anomalies, facial clefts and temporomandibular joint dysfunctions will be the main themes of the 2027 edition.

The scientific committee, chaired by Professors Pierre Corre and Hélios Bertin of the University of Nantes and Professors Julia Cohen-Levy and David Koppel of McGill University in Montreal, will ensure that these topics are addressed in a multidisciplinary and supportive manner, in keeping with previous editions.

The programme will combine lectures, open presentations and practical workshops, with a view to fostering the exchange of experiences and the sharing of knowledge amongst the various disciplines represented.

Particular attention will be paid to making the conference accessible to early-career researchers. Very attractive registration rates will be offered.
